Add a Signup Tool to Squarespace

A Code Block holds an inline Signup Tool on Squarespace. Site-wide code injection is a plan feature. If you do not see it, use a Code Block on the pages where a popup should run.

What you'll need

  • A Signup Tool in SendFable.
  • Permission to edit the Squarespace page.
  • The code from Signup Tools.

Inline installation

In Signup Tools, choose Inline, then Copy code. Paste that snippet. The example below uses your-form as a placeholder. Your copied code already has the real slug.

  1. In SendFable, open Signup Tools.
  2. Choose Inline.
  3. Copy the generated code.
  4. On the Squarespace page, add a Code Block.
  5. Paste the snippet into the code block. Do not place it in a text block.
  6. Save. Squarespace can take a moment to show the change on the public page.
  7. Open the public page and send a test signup.
<div data-sendfable-form="your-form"></div>
<script src="https://sendfable.com/embed/form.js" async></script>

Popup installation

In Signup Tools, choose Popup, set when it appears and how often, then Copy code. Add that snippet once on the pages where the popup should run. The script is the same file as Inline.

Do not assume a Personal plan or an older Squarespace version has Code Injection. The Code Block path works without it.

  1. In Signup Tools, choose Popup and set when it appears and how often.
  2. Copy the generated code.
  3. If Settings → Advanced → Code Injection is available, paste the snippet in the Footer field. That covers the pages on the site.
  4. Code Injection is not on every Squarespace plan or version. If the menu is missing, the plan does not include it.
  5. Without Code Injection, add one Code Block with the popup snippet on each page where it should run. One block per page is enough.
  6. Save, then test in a private window.
<div data-sendfable-form="your-form" data-display="popup" data-trigger="delay" data-delay="10" data-frequency="7d"></div>
<script src="https://sendfable.com/embed/form.js" async></script>

How to test

  1. Publish or update the site. An unpublished draft will not show the live snippet.
  2. Open the public page in a private window.
  3. Submit a test email. It should appear in that Signup Tool's audience.
  4. If the tool asks for a phone, the SMS checkbox stays separate and starts unchecked.
  5. Free plans show Powered by SendFable under the tool. Paid plans that remove branding do not.

Common troubleshooting

  • The code shows up as text on the page. Paste it into an HTML or embed block, not a normal paragraph.
  • Nothing changed. Publish the site, then refresh. A cached page can still show the old version.
  • The popup appeared once and stopped. That is the frequency setting. Use a private window, or wait until the next window.
  • A browser extension or content blocker is stopping scripts. Try another browser with extensions off.
  • The form says it is unavailable. Copy code again from the right Signup Tool so the slug matches.
